This coverage is vital protection if you perform any alpaca or llama activities such as boarding, training, breeding, clinics or sales. Coverage is provided if you are sued by a third party who is injured or whose property is damaged due to your alpaca or llama-related activities.  This coverage covers defense costs and claims for which you are legally liable, up to the policy limits.

​Care, Custody and Control: Many farm and ranch owners and operators who board, breed or train animals owned by others assume they will never be sued, or if they are sued they assume that their General Liability coverage will protect them in the event of a death or injury to an alpaca or llama left in their care. What many do not realize is that most General Liability policies exclude coverage for death or injury to alpacas or llamas in your care. This coverage will protect you with defense costs and will provide for medical care and/or replacement cost of an animal up to the policy limits if an alpaca or llama is injured or dies while in your care and you are found negligent. With limits available up to $250,000 per animal and $500,000 maximum loss per policy year, you can buy only the coverage you need.
